Thermomix chopping and steaming settings

If using manual mode on your Thermomix you may want to know what settings to use.

Here’s a really handy table  that is in the back of Simple Ideas cookbook and in the front of the Basic Cookbook.
Once you start using the Thermomix you will find you know most of these settings but for a newbie they are quite useful.

I always recommend starting with Cookidoo recipes for a few weeks before you do anything manually, just to get used to your Thermomix, regardless of the model.

Some useful setting for chopping in your Thermomix

Spoon speed is for stirring – much like using a spoon yourself (choose reverse blade if soft ingredients)

Mixing around speed 1-3, again reverse blade if you have soft ingredients.

Chopping speed 4-6

Blending above speed 6

IMPORTANT – Butterfly whisk, bladecover peeler and cutter/spiralizeare not to be used above speed 4. It will shred your butterfly whisk if it is above speed 4.
