The Launch of Thermomix TM7 in Berlin

I was invited to Berlin along with the other top advisors and team leaders from around the World, where Vorwerk launched the new Thermomix – the TM7 – on the 14th February 2025.
I was the first of 2500 people who were at the event to get to play with the new Thermomix TM7 and I have done a video to show you what it looks like and how it works.
It was very noisy so there is quite a bit of background noise – I will do another video in a quieter setting when I get the chance but for now, be one of the first to have a look!

The TM7 just launched last night in Berlin and I was the first person to go into the testing room to have a play (out of over 2500 people - lucky me!!)

Playing ‘devils advocate’, I’ll go through why I would go for TM7 over TM6 or why I would stick with TM6 & the February bundle over the new Thermomix TM7.  There are arguments for both and you’ll have to decide yourself which camp you land in.

Reasons to go for TM6 over the TM7

The current TM6 bundle is amazing – free extra bowl, blade cover peeler worth £340

The price is cheaper for TM6 – £1279 v £1349

On the TM6 accessory bundle, it will only be available while stocks last so if you want to go for this, decide quickly and get your order in asap.

Although there may be an option of a larger capacity bowl in the TM7 in future (not currently), you are getting two bowls with the TM6 at the moment (an extra TM6 bowl is usually £169)

You can get finance or spread payments on the TM6 but TM7 is card only

You can start cooking on your Thermomix in a few days – there’s a 14 week lead time on the TM7

The functions are not different enough currently on TM7 to want to change (this will be added to in future though, like the Tm6 was).

Currently the only different modes that the TM7 has is browning, open cooking and steaming – Thermomix TM6 only has browning as part of guided recipes and the tm6 steams, so I’m not sure of the benefit of it being a function yet. (I will get more info on this)

There is 5 years free warranty on the TM6 if you pay by card, with the option of buying the additional 3 years if you are paying on finance – that’s 5 years peace of mind.
The TM7 only has 2 years warranty and you won’t be able to buy 5 years warranty on the TM7 for the time being

Heavier bowl on TM7

Reasons to go for TM7 over TM6

Future proofing – I had a very big hint that there will be the ability to change the bowls (to a bigger bowl or something different) in the future. The base will remain the same and you will potentially be able to swap bowls to something different than the current 2.2l capacity bowl that it is being launched with (we don’t know what that is yet)

Functions we don’t know about will come in the future and it will keep getting better, like the TM6 did.

Those customers of mine who like to have the latest gadgets will want the TM7

Browning function / high heat can be set manually – no more being tied to a cookidoo recipe for your sugar stages and high heat recipes

Steaming function – the steaming ability of TM6 has been improved and the TM7 is more efficient at this – more details to follow.

Open cooking – the TM7 has the ability to cook things without the lid, more like cooking on a hob – good for pasta. It can’t go fast with the lid off, so there’s no worry of splashing.

Re-design on spatula – TM7 has a spatula that has a little indent at the end of it to turn the blades when getting dough out – the spatula is longer – meaning you can scrape all of the bowl at once.

Lid of TM7 is refined. No need to use simmering basket or splash guard on top when cooking above 90 degrees – it’s also even better for emulsifying (making things likes mayonnaise)

Bigger screen size – 10 inch v 6.8 inch

45% more steaming space with the bigger Varoma – total capacity of varoma is 6.8L

A big difference is the almost silent motor (under speed 2) and it’s also a lot quieter on higher speeds too

You can pick the bowl up with two hands as it’s insulated

PERSONAL notes – you’ve been asking for it and the TM7 can now add personal notes to your recipes!

Inbuilt slider on the TM7 – no need to have a separate slider – you won’t have to lift the thermomix to move it on your work surface. The weighing scales are still in the feet.

Base can go in a drawer, much easier to travel with – no back or sides like the tm6 has
